    Early Years Programs        

Breast-feeding Support

Receive support and information on breast-feeding your child. Staff speak Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and English. Call to book your appointment.

Baby’s First Year

Get out of the house and come meet other moms. This postnatal support group will discuss infant feeding, infant development and health with a lactation consultant and health professionals.

Helping Our Babies Grow

Weekly drop-in for pregnant women provides information on having a healthy pregnancy and baby. At Applegrove Community Centre, 60 Woodfield Rd. Staff speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Urdu, Hindi, and Kutchi.

Infant Hearing Program

These screening appointments are held through the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services (TPSLS).

Oral Health

A free workshop on dental health. Learn about early childhood tooth decay and how to prevent it. Referrals to free and low cost dentists.

Multicultural Parenting Support Group

Parenting support, education and resources for immigrant and refugee parents of children ages birth to 6 years of age.

Parenting Education in Urdu

This program is for parents with children under 10. Topics to include sibling rivalry, positive discipline, effective communication and more.

Parenting Workshops

Reflective Parenting

Intensive parenting support in an ongoing group setting. Parents get to know themselves and their children better.

School Readiness

This group will help parents and their children 3-6 yrs old get ready for school. Learn through play-based activities and enhance early literacy skills.

AMIK Snack and Chat

Let's discuss health and wellness issues over a soothing cup of tea. Sessions will include a chance to prepare a snack and learn about healthy eating.

Aquafitness for All

This group will run for 12 sessions every Monday morning at Main Square CRC. A certified instructor will be leading the pool exercises. This program is open to males and females and especially geared to people with disabilities and seniors.

This group helps participants understand how chronic illness affects them and supports their step to make healthier lifestyle choices. Open to any people with long-term health conditions. 1st Monday morning.

Community Kitchen

Gain confidence and learn new skills for cooking and preparing food.  Make recipes by working hands-on as part of a group and enjoy the food too! 1st and 3rd Friday mornings.

Coping with Stress

This is a program to help people living in stress to learn some hands on coping strategies and skills. This 3 session workshop will run from October 5-19, and will be co-facilitated with a therapist.

Craving Change

An intensive 6 week workshop aimed at helping you understand how the environment, circumstances and emotions affect eating behaviours, and help change your relationship with food.

This weekly walking group will support activity and a healthy lifestyle. Held at EECHC Tuesday mornings.

Forever Young

Seniors learn healthy living while participating in fun and engaging activities. For residents of 828 Kingston Rd, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, afternoons.

Gentle Fit

A stretch and strengthen exercise group to help those with low conditioning, mobility, arthritis, to help maintain flexibility, reduce pain in joints, improve fitness and reduce falls. This group will teach you the basics of fitness and get you active.

Get Connected

Drop-in group for adults to "Get Connected", share experiences, knowledge and skills, learn about health issues and community resources. Join us for lively discussion, guest speakers and some light body stretching. 2nd and 4th Friday mornings.

Good Food Box

Get fresh fruits and vegetables once a month. Boxes are $12.00 -36.00, and are ordered at the beginning of the month with delivery on the later in the month, ready to be picked up Wednesday evenings. Call to arrange your order.

Preventing Falls Step by Step

Falls are the leading cause of injury among older people. Many falls can be prevented. Join us to learn how you can stay safe and independent. Part 1: A Toronto Public Health nurse will discuss what factors make us more likely to fall, show us falling hazards in and around our homes, demonstrate simple ways we can make our homes safer, and teach us what to do in case of a fall. Recovery Brunch

Recovering from alcohol and drug addictions is a journey.  Join us for our monthly meeting focused on mind and body care that can help you reach your goals and prevent relapse.  Learn how to be at peace regardless of the situation and about resources relevant to where you’re at. Find out about nutrition, exercise and better sleep tips for your specific needs.  Share your thoughts and help each other.  2nd last Saturday of the month.

Through Her Eyes

Through Her Eyes is a violence prevention project for young moms under 25. Utilizing expressive arts therapy, young moms will have the opportunity to explore challenging relationship issues including abuse and violence that they have experienced. The group provides an opportunity to improve communication skills, develop and practice new effective strategies in negotiating healthier relationships.

Diabetes Education
